Organisational structure

The organisation of the cooperation project is highly participatory, in order to ensure networking of German prevention research "from the inside out". The structural elements of the cooperation project reflect this self-image.

Strategy Meetings
Project partners from science and practice are invited to the two-day meetings, together with other interested parties. The meetings are held once per year. In addition to a scientific part for the purposes of content-related exchange, there is a strategic part that offers an opportunity to discuss and agree on a common procedure for the further development of prevention research.

Advisory Committee
The project is supervised by an Advisory Committee that supports and critically comments on developments. It is made up of top-level representatives from science, politics and the health sector.

Working Groups
Working Groups are very important structural elements of the cooperation project, where the participants can make a contribution in accordance with their interests and situation. The Working Groups address concrete issues, present their results at the Strategy Meetings and expert conferences, and make use of the other dissemination capabilities of the cooperation project.
There are currently six Working Groups, further information about which can be found under the corresponding link.

Again, interested parties not involved in any of the funded projects are, of course, more than welcome. Cooperation with corresponding groups in the scientific societies is also targeted.

Steering Group
This body manages the cooperation project, meeting quarterly for this purpose. It is made up of members of the three implementing institutions: Hannover Medical School (Institute for Epidemiology, Social Medicine and Health Systems Research), the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (Department of Medical Psychology) a the Federal Centre for Health Education (BZgA). The job of the Steering Group is to plan forthcoming steps, prepare working papers for the Advisory Committee, strategy meetings and Working Groups, and support and coordinate their initiatives.
